The Libyan American Alliance (LAA) in Washington D.C. has tasked our lawyer with pursuing a legal case against warlord Khalifa Haftar on the basis of implementing Executive Order 13726 regarding the Treasury Department. Implementing the Executive Order would place sanctions on all property and financial interests that Haftar has in the US for his involvement in crimes that threaten peace, security, and stability in Libya. This effort is in accordance with the language of the Executive Order, linked below, and with statements made by the US Embassy in Libya last night alongside the minister of the interior, Fathi Bashagha, and the national security advisor, Taj-Aldin Al-Razzaqi.
