LIBYA ACTION DAY

On February 14th, 2020, in commemoration of the anniversary of the February 17th revolution, the Libyan American Alliance hosted Libya Action Day. LAD consisted of four parts: a public discussion of Libya’s future, congressional visits with Libyan American leaders, the launch of LAA’s advocacy toolkit for the Libya Stabilization Act, and a celebratory evening banquet.

The evening of Libya Action Day consisted of a short program and a banquet dinner. The event itself opened with a celebration of the events of February 17th and included playing Libyan revolutionary music and watching brief video clips. Following the celebration, LAA invited a handful of speakers from various backgrounds and fields of expertise to engage with the audience, as well as presenting a video and powerpoint presentation on LAA’s work and advocacy. The event featured LAA torch-shaped centerpieces produced by a local Libyan American artist which were sold to attendees at the end.
